Printmaker Aoife Dwyer will facilitate workshops in response to the Michael Craig-Martin exhibition which is in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council from the 5th -21st of July 2010.

Adult Workshops

Weds 7th July   6.30- 7.30pm
Thurs 8th July   1-2pm
Drawing session focusing on observation, positive/negative space, line and composition.

Workshops for children and families

Sat 10th July

1-2pm: 5-7 years old
Working in small groups the children will create lengths of wallpaper using card stencils, carbon paper, pencils etc in response to the exhibition.

2.30pm - 3.30pm: 7 -9 years old
The children will trace and overlap images of everyday objects. They will learn to create and compose new images by observing the spaces and shapes discovered in the process.

4 -5pm: Family Session
After looking at and discussing the exhibition family groups will create their own visual storyline/sentence using a selection of photocopied images of everyday objects, a variety of coloured paper and other materials. These will be used to create a fold out concertina booklet.

Sun 11th July

1 - 2pm: 5-7 years old
Working in small groups the children will create lengths of wallpaper using card stencils, carbon paper, pencils etc in response to the exhibition.

2.30 - 3.30pm: 10-12 years old
Following a quick tour of the exhibition, the group will then brainstorm what they associate with the individual exhibition pieces and from there create their own set of images linking object and letter.

4-5pm: Family Session
After looking at and discussing the exhibition family groups will create their own visual storyline/sentence using a selection of photocopied images of everyday objects, a variety of coloured paper and other materials. These will be used to create a fold out concertina booklet.
